Management & Operations Advisory — Coquitlam, BC
Most problems are already visible. They're just unmarked.
Fieldmark Consulting works with owner-led businesses across Metro Vancouver to identify what is actually driving performance — then rebuild the operation around it. No templates, no seat-warming, no invoices for work you haven't seen.
field·mark
noun
The single distinguishing detail that separates one thing from another that otherwise looks identical. Two companies can have the same revenue, the same headcount and the same market. One of them is compounding. Finding out why is the entire job.
Positioning
Advisory that ends in a working system, not a slide deck.
Most consulting engagements fail in the same place. The analysis is competent, the recommendations are reasonable, and then the document goes into a drawer because nobody had the time or the authority to implement it. The business pays for a diagnosis and receives no treatment.
Fieldmark is built the other way around. We start with a short, unpaid consult to establish whether there is a real problem worth solving and whether we are the right people to solve it. If there is, the work is broken into defined milestones with written outcomes — and each one is delivered, revised and approved before a single invoice is issued.
That structure is deliberate. It means we carry the risk of doing the work properly, and it means you are never funding a phase you haven't already seen and signed off on. It also filters out the engagements that shouldn't happen, which is better for both sides.
What we do
Four areas where owner-led businesses lose the most ground.
Business Performance Review
Find out where the money and the hours are actually going.
A full review of the business as it really operates — not as the org chart describes it. We follow the work, the decisions and the money end to end, then hand you a written report that ranks what is costing you most and what to fix first. Plain findings, in order, with the reasoning shown.
Operations & Workflow
Build a business that keeps running when you're not in the room.
If the job only gets done because you personally chase it, the business owns you. We rebuild the processes that break under pressure, write them down so they survive staff turnover, and choose tools your team will actually use. The result is an operation that runs on a system instead of on your memory.
Growth, Pricing & Sales
Charge what the work is worth, and win it consistently.
Most small businesses are underpriced and over-reliant on referrals. We work out what your service is genuinely worth to the client, set pricing that holds up under scrutiny, and build a repeatable way of bringing work in so revenue stops depending on who happened to call this month.
Cash Flow & Financial Control
Know your numbers before the decision, not after it.
We build a forecast you can actually run the business from, work out what each job or product really earns once every cost is counted, and set a simple monthly reporting routine. You end up with a short list of numbers that tell you the truth about the business at a glance.
Method
Three commitments that shape every engagement.
We tell you if you don't need us
The opening consult is a genuine assessment, not a sales call. If the problem is smaller than it looks, or sits outside our competence, we will say so and point you somewhere better. A short honest answer is worth more than a long paid one.
Scope is written before work begins
Deliverables, milestones, timelines, fees and revision terms are agreed in writing at the start. Nothing expands quietly. If the scope genuinely needs to change, it gets discussed and re-agreed before anyone spends time on it.
We hand over, we don't embed
The objective is a business that no longer needs the engagement. Every process is documented, every model is explained, and your team is trained to run it. Success is measured by how cleanly we can leave.
Our payment promise
You pay after the work lands. Not before.
This is the standard we hold on every engagement, and it is written into our terms — not offered as a courtesy.
- Every project starts with a consult at no cost. Scope and milestones are agreed in writing before any work begins.
- Invoices are issued only after a milestone is delivered, revised as reasonably needed, and approved by you. No upfront payment for undelivered work. No deposits.
- Reasonable revisions to reach the agreed outcome are included as part of the milestone, never treated as an upsell.
- If a project cannot be completed, you receive a pro rata refund for any paid but undelivered milestone.
- If work was carried out but a milestone was not reached, it is not charged.

Next step
Tell us what isn't working. We'll tell you whether it's worth fixing.
The first conversation costs nothing and commits you to nothing. Bring the problem as you understand it — we'll do the work of finding out what it actually is.
